Alloy 718 is a Nickel based superalloy (NiCrFeMoNb) with a vast array of applications due to the ability to maintain high strength over a wide temperature range making it suitable for use in cryogenic applications as well high temperatures. It is used to make parts in turbine engine parts, as well as in liquid fuel rockets, cryogenic tanks and high strength fasteners and springs.
